IGNORE THE FEAR
With a foreword by Sean Conway
No one had ever attempted it before. Yet as a complete beginner, and a terrified one at that, in April 2018 Fiona Quinn set out to see if she could stand up paddleboard up the west coast of Britain, 800 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats (LEJOG).
Having walked and cycled LEJOG the year before, something inexplicably compelled her to see if she could turn her previous adventures into a length of Britain triathlon and set three new world records. Along the way Fiona was joined by dolphins, paddled 40 miles across the Irish Sea, and battled past whirlpools. This inspiring and gripping account shows that no matter what the odds, if you dare to start before you’re ready and keep believing in yourself, anything is possible.

Book Reviews
Ignore the Fear is based on Fiona’s SUP Britain expedition, when she paddleboarded a distance of 800 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
In 2018 Fiona set 3 world records when she stand up paddleboarded (SUP) the length of Britain. Over 81 days she battled a fear of the sea as she travelled up the west coast, greeting creatures from the deep as she paddled over the Irish Sea and fighting past the deadly Corryvreckan whirlpool in Scotland.
She became the first woman to SUP across the Irish Sea and the first person to SUP the length of Britain on an inflatable board (SUP LEJOG).
This expedition, added to her walk and cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats the year before, makes Fiona the first woman in history to complete a length of Britain Triathlon.
