"Your talk was just great. Warm, personal and inspirational. You really opened our eyes to the possibilities offered by different lifestyle choices."
- Nick Rogers, Chair TEDx Kingston
Adventure gives us permission to try, to push our boundaries, to dream big, to look at challenges differently. But most importantly, whether we succeed or fail, adventure renews in us a belief in ourselves. So when the going gets tough we dig in, we push through, we find another way, and sometimes, it gives us the strength to quit and start again.
For the past 8 years Fiona has been building a life on her own terms: she’s gone on to run 5 businesses, cycle, walk and paddleboard the length of Great Britain, set 3 world records, live as a digital nomad and even get woken up by a bear while wild camping in Montpellier, France. When you look at life as an adventure and dare to do more, anything is possible.
By taking on adventures large and small Fiona tells stories of possibility, shares how to build resilience and embrace risk, and ultimately enables you to find the creativity and curiosity to approach life in your own way. Working with brands and organisations she shares this adventure mindset through content creation, writing and speaking. Having spoken at corporate events, festivals, universities, schools and on TV and radio she enthusiastically challenges you to start before you’re ready, face your fears and find your own approach to life.
“Fiona connects with the audience - her humor and matter-of-fact delivery make her extraordinary achievements relatable. Her particular strength is connecting to the audience through Q&As - I’ve never seen her unable to give a compelling, well-thought out and insightful answer!”
- Henry Blanchard, Uganda Marathon Launch
"Fiona is hard not to like and admire (for more than just her 1st class cake-eating skills) whilst listening to the physical and emotional ups and downs of a trip across Blighty. I look forward to the next installment when she's back on her trusty 2-wheeled steed!"
- Anna, Tales of Adventure
“Fiona is never afraid of a new challenge. She’s always calm and considered, whilst being infectiously positive.”
- Rowan Edwards, Property Investor
Staff Well Being
Fiona also runs Adventure Book Club to help support an ongoing shift towards an adventure mindset.
This is a great opportunity for companies to support their staff to develop their creative thinking, from discovering what to do when you’re the most inexperienced member of a sinking ship to how adventure enables you to develop the mind of a survivor. Reading regularly not only fills you with ideas, but it also improves your vocabulary, challenges how you think and helps you fit in regular down time away from TV or the internet. Book Club also supports a dose of nature, getting outside in the fresh air, getting space to feel the grass between your toes and time to think about everything and nothing at all.
Books provide us with inspiration, insight and ideas, and they enable us to see worlds we would never have stumbled upon on our own. But it's the people around us that will help us bring our ideas to life. Fiona’s creating a community through Book Club to support us to read more, share more and do more. Through the accountability that the Club gives us, it makes it much easier to finish a book every month. Book Club then helps us to take our ideas out of our note books and get outside more often. Vital in a world overloaded with expectation and stress, heading out into the wild with our annual Camp Out and Wild Weekends enables us to let go of the past and reignite our fire for the future.
Corporate membership for employees is available on request. If you’d like to help your employees de-stress, get more balance in their life and share ideas with like-minded people, please contact Fiona to discuss subscription options.
