Bivvying in.. January anyone?
It was 7:30pm on an unseasonally warm yet still pretty chilly Friday evening in January when I rushed out to meet some lovely folk on top of a local hill.
The only 2 things you need to build anything
Creating anything doesn’t have to be complicated or have a secret remedy that only the lucky few know about. In essence, it just involves you being consistent at something. It’s really that simple.
Could co-working change how we live?
Whether its adventurers or digital nomads, increasing numbers of people seem to be living out of little more than 2 bags, and getting by on AirBnB and charm alone. They’ve condensed their stuff so they can maximise their experiences - awesome!
But could I live like this? Do I want to live like this?
It’s time and friendly faces that really make an adventure
My second takeaway is very much that I was lucky enough to share my journey. The people in your life are what make it and they sure make an adventure worth doing.
My 2015 in Review
This year has been pretty different to any of the previous 28. For the first time in my adult life I spent a whole year without a ‘proper’ job and focused on getting my own business off the ground.
I’m cycling home for Christmas - and would love you to join me
Walking home is a romantic idea and up until recently I’d never though anyone would actually do it. Inspiration in the woods: How I discovered a love for microadventure
It was August 2014 and I was enjoying the summer off. Well, I say ‘off’, I’d been made redundant 3 months prior and was using the lure of summer sun to put off figuring out what I’d do next. But I knew I wanted a complete change. This was the perfect fresh start and I felt liberated by having the decision to move on made for me. Now, the world was at my feet and I wanted to start exploring it, experiencing life outside of my current day-to-day.
Mind sets for building a life on your own terms
When everyone else is telling you you’re mad to give up a highly paid secure job, or your idea is crazy because that’s not how the industry works, how do you find your way through, create a path where there isn’t one and come out the other side in your own version of success?
Curiosity, courage and action: The story of a potentialist
5 years ago I gave a talk on a new type of career labelled the Potentialist. This is the short story on how, looking back, I now feel like I’m actually starting to become one.
